Trees

In Tokyo there are countless buildings spreading all over. The sky is too far above. Although I know it takes us only ninety minutes to reach mountains and beaches by train from the central part of Tokyo, it's hard to have time for that. We get breathless if we are only running about within the small territory we fix for ourselves. But fortunately, even in Tokyo, we still have trees. There is fresh air of the nature around trees. I sometimes stop by, walk close to trees, and touch their trunks. I look up and find the sky really over there. Then I am refreshed again. So let me put photos of my favorite trees in Tokyo and its environs.

This flowering tree I passed by in March

But they were so white for cherry blossoms

March 18, 2007

Flowers looked like cherry blossoms, watched closely

Slim branches were spread out in shushine

Threr were three enormous Zelcova trees in front of JR Shinkodaira Station. They were over 20 meters high. I wonder how many years it took them to grow up so high. One day, so suddenly, they were cut down. What did the number plate of City of Kodaira mean?
