The surface of the mountains are covered with bush and grass / 山肌は低木の茂みと草に覆われている。この状態を遠くから見ると、のっぺりした「苔のような」緑に覆われた山と感じるのか。
It was a very bumpy road. We went splashing water of the puddles left by the previous night's rain. / でこぼこ道だった。前夜に降った雨の水たまりを威勢良く突っ切って進んだ。
A 4WD we rode. (The sticker reads "Tasman Valley Explores."/ 乗車した4WD。窓のステッカーには「タスマンバレー探検隊」と書いてある。
A breathtaking view we had from a cliff. The glacier proceeding into the lake. / 思わず息を飲む絶景。タスマン氷河の先端が氷河湖に流れ込むところを崖っぷちから見下ろす。

A long rectangular lake like a short river. / 横長の長方形のような氷河湖
This glacier is not a silverly sparkling snow white one but the pale ice covererd with gravels. / この氷河はいわゆる白銀に輝く類のものではなく、上に砂礫が堆積した青白いものだ。
If you look at the surface of the lake carefully, you can find a boat and some tiny icebergs. / 目を凝らすと水面に一隻の船といくつかの小さな氷塊が見える。

An iceberg broken from the glacier and drifting in the lake / 氷河から割れ落ちて湖を漂う氷塊
The iceberg will drift and melt in the lake. / 氷塊は湖を漂いとけて消える
Due to the global warming, 30m of the glacier is missing every year. /温暖化の影響で毎年30mずつ氷河は消失してゆく
Unlike the passengers, our guide didn't look feeling cold on the lake. Look at her short slleves! / 乗客と違って我らのガイドは湖上でも寒くなさそう。半袖で案内してくれた。

While we were cruising the lake, thunderous sounds were heard: the sound of breaking icebergs / 湖上を探索する間にも雷のような音が何度か聞こえた（氷塊が氷河から崩れ落ちる音）
We said farewell to the glacier. / 氷河に別れを告げる。
The glacier is far away now. / 氷河は今や遠く。
Return to the jetboat pier. / ジェットボートの桟橋へ帰還
